| Breast Lift (Mastopexy)

Breast lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure to raise and
reshape sagging breasts. A mastopexy can also reduce the size of the
areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple. Over the years,
factors such as pregnancy, nursing and gravity take their toll on a
woman’s breasts. As the skin loses its elasticity, the breasts often
lose their shape and begin to sag. If your breasts are small or have
lost volume, breasts implants can be inserted in conjunction with a
mastopexy to increase both firmness and size. The mastopexy can be
done by several methods. The most popular and least invasive
technique is called a pursestring mastopexy, where an incision is
placed around the nipple or areola. Occasionally a scar may have to
be incised below the nipple areola complex in a vertical fashion.
Rarely does a patient require a horizontal scar underneath the
breast. For more information regarding mastopexy, please contact our
office. We will be happy to send you a detailed brochure on the
procedure. For more information, please click here.
